Storytellers: “Out of the Picture” Documentary + Filmmaker Mary Louise Schumacher

Join us for a special screening of Out of the Picture, a thought-provoking documentary that explores art critics living through a period of transformation for both art and media. Out of the Picture is the first documentary film to be made about art critics in the United States. It has been accepted into several festivals around the world and has received multiple jury awards.  

Following the screening, Art Papers Executive and Artistic Director, Sarah Higgins will be in conversation with veteran critic and filmmaker Mary Louise Schumacher on the evolution of art criticism, the role of critics today, and the challenges in an ever-changing visual culture.
