SCAD Cinema Circle: The Breakfast Club

Join Andrew Meyer, Executive Producer of the beloved classic The Breakfast Club and SCAD Film and Television Professor, for a conversation about his extraordinary life journey and the road to producing what Entertainment Weekly hails as “The Best High School Movie of All Time.” From his early days in the record and film industry to his pivotal role in producing The Breakfast Club, Meyer will share fascinating insights into his creative process and explore the legacy of the film, which continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.  

 Mr. Meyer will also tell stories from his new book Walking in the Fast Lane: Stories of A Lifetime, available on Amazon, Kindle, and Barnes and Noble. 

 A special screening of Walking in the Fast Lane, a SCAD-produced documentary exploring Meyer’s career in the record and music business, will precede the in-conversation, followed by a screening of The Breakfast Club. This event is open to the public. Tickets are free for SCAD Card holders and $10 for the general public. 

About Andrew Meyer  

Andrew Meyer has served as an entertainment industry executive, film producer, and educator. He has been the President of Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss’ A&M Films, Robert Redford’s Wildwood Productions, and Norman Lear’s Act All Productions. Notable among the many other films he has produced are the Oscar-nominated nominated film Fried Green Tomatoes, the iconic film Better Off Dead, and Grammy winner Bring on the Night starring Sting.
