BAM! Celebrating Black Artists in Music
Following two years of sold-out shows, BAM! is back and bigger and better than ever. SCAD's acclaimed celebration of Black History Month and Black musical artists will feature Grammy, Emmy, and Tony-nominated performers directly from Broadway, TV, and film. SCAD stars of the past and present, from stunning alumni to the university’s premier vocal ensemble The Bee Sharps and other SCAD students, come together for this exhilarating night of performances. Featuring iconic hit songs from culture-defining Black artists in gospel, R&B, soul, and jazz, as well as spoken word and dance, this uplifting and joyous concert experience spotlights the rich traditions and innovations of African American music.
Tickets are $20 for SCAD Card holders, students, seniors, and military, and $35 for the general public.

TITUSS BURGESS
Emmy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominated Tituss Burgess has quickly emerged as one of the entertainment industry’s most versatile and dynamic performers, with his work in film, television, and theater generating both critical and commercial acclaim. Burgess most recently starred as Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway and in season two of the hit AppleTV+ series Schmigadoon!. Previously, he starred in the hit Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, earning nominations for four consecutive Emmy Awards, a SAG Award, and two Critics’ Choice TV Awards. He reprised his role in the interactive special Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend, earning an additional Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor. Burgess also starred alongside Jane Krakowski in Center of the YOUniverse for Audible, a musical comedy he co-created, which had a sold-out run at the Minetta Lane Theatre and is now available to hear on Audible. On film, Burgess has starred in the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect and in the Netflix films Set It Up and Dolemite Is My Name. Burgess currently stars in the animated musical comedy series Central Park for AppleTV+, for which he was nominated for his sixth Emmy Award. A veteran of the stage, Burgess made his Broadway debut as Eddie in Good Vibrations and has played Hal Miller in Jersey Boys, Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the 2009 revival of Guys and Dolls, and Sebastian in The Little Mermaid.
BRANDON VICTOR DIXON
Brandon Victor Dixon is an Emmy Award, Grammy Award, and Tony Award-nominated actor, producer, and social advocate. He has produced multiple works, including the Tony Award-winning Hedwig and the Angry Inch starring Neil Patrick Harris and the Tribeca Film Festival selection and political thriller 88, which he also starred in and is now available on all streaming platforms. On stage, Dixon has received Tony Award nominations for his roles in Shuffle Along and The Color Purple, a Grammy Award nomination for his contributions to Motown: The Musical, and Olivier Award, Drama Desk Award, Lucille Lortel Award, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, and AUDELCO nominations for The Scottsboro Boys. He also starred in Hamilton, and Kander and Ebb's Chicago. On TV, he has appeared in The Best Man, Jesus Christ Superstar, Power, She's Gotta Have It, Modern Love, The Good Wife, This Is Us, and Firebuds. A Presidential Scholar semifinalist, Dixon studied at the British Academy of Dramatic Acting in Oxford and is a graduate of Columbia University. He is a recipient of the university's I.A.L. Diamond Award for Achievement in the Arts.
CANDICE GLOVER
Candice Glover (B.F. A ., dramatic writing, 2022) is a pop, R&B, and soul artist who was crowned the 12th season winner of American Idol. A South Carolina native, her credits include Broadway’s Home for the Holidays and Hallmark Channel’s hit Northpole. Glover also served as a guest entertainer on Norwegian Cruise Lines. Previously a member of the SCAD HoneyBees ensemble, Glover is now a SCAD music coordinator helping mentor the SCAD Bee Sharps.
SOLEA PFEIFFER
Solea Pfeiffer most recently completed her run as Eurydice in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Hadestown. Previously, she starred as Ophelia in Shakespeare in the Park’s Hamlet, directed by Kenny Leon. Pfeiffer made her Broadway debut originating the role of Penny Lane in Almost Famous and her film debut in Tyler Perry and Netflix’s A Jazzman’s Blues. She completed a sold-out run of her solo show You Are Here for Audible, starred in the title role of New York City Center’s acclaimed production of Evita, and appeared opposite Renée Fleming in The Light in the Piazza at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Her other stage appearances include a critically acclaimed run of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World, the Hollywood Bowl production of Sondheim on Sondheim, originating the role of Eliza in the West Coast premiere of Hamilton, the world premiere of Gun & Powder at the Signature Theatre, and the Hollywood Bowl and National Symphony Orchestra productions of West Side Story. On television, she has recurred on The Good Fight and appeared in one of the final episodes of Scandal.
KIANDRA "KIKI" RICHARDSON
Kiandra "Kiki" Richardson (B.F.A., performing arts, 2013), a singer, songwriter, performer, and actor, is well on her way to her artistic breakthrough — tracing her journey as the daughter of a music minister in Warner Robins, Ga., to a key role on Empire and showstopping performances alongside everyone from Kanye West to Beyoncé. Following her graduation from SCAD, a call from BeBe Winans changed everything. Richardson took on the role of Whitney Houston in Born for This: The BeBe Winans Story, enchanting audiences on stage in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Santa Monica for the next two years. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2017, she accompanied Tyler, The Creator during a seminal NPR Tiny Desk segment and sang backup at Beyoncé’s historic Coachella headlining performance in 2018, later joining her on tour with Jay-Z. In 2019, she became a regular performer at Kanye West's Sunday Service around the country. She also landed the role of Yana on Fox’s Empire, contributing the standout “Heaven” and eight other songs on the show's final season. In recent years, Richardson has worked alongside gospel giants like Kirk Franklin and she stars in the BET original series Kingdom Business, playing the daughter of a legendary gospel singer portrayed by Yolanda Adams.
TERRENCE WILLIAMS JR.
Terrence Williams Jr. (B.F.A., performing arts, 2022), recently made his off-Broadway debut in Titaníque as a background vocalist to the show's Céline Dion. Williams has also appeared in Hulu's The Girl from Plainville. While a SCAD student, he also performed on stage in university productions of All Shook Up and Little Women and outside productions of Hairspray and Violet. Williams also participated in the national tour of Ultimate Storytime, and his solo performance of "Birds" on the original cast album has more than 7.5 million streams on Spotify.
